COUNTA Function

CountA is an Excel function to count the cell in a range or an array that has numeric as well as text values.
Syntax:
 =COUNTA(value1,[value2],[value3],,)
Arguments or Parameters:
  • value1: first range to count the value.
  • value2 [optional]: Second range to count the value.
Note: Counta function will not count the cells with Blank values.
Objective: Find the count of numeric as well as text values in the range B3:B20.
      Step 1:
  • Type = sign in E4 cell
  • Type COUNTA Function
    Step 2:
  • Select range B3:B20
  • Type “)”
  • Press Enter
Conclusion: The CountA function has counted 16 cells that have numeric as well as text values in the E4 cell.
