EXCEL AVERAGE FUNCTION

The Average is an Excel function to find the average(arithmetic mean) within a range or array.

Syntax:

=average(number1,[number2],[number3],,)

Arguments or Parameters:

number1: first range to find an average value.
number2 [optional]: second range to find an average value.

Objective: Find the average value of Quantity in cell D3.

Step 1:

Type = sign in cell D3.
Type AVERAGE Function.

Step 2:

Select range B3:B9.

Conclusion: In cell D3, the Average function has computed the average quantity to be 4914.28.
